The Friends is a non-profit organization formed to benefit the citizens of the Towns of Norton and Mansfield and neighboring towns through the recreation and transportation opportunities offered by the World War II Veterans Memorial Rail Trail. The Friends shall work diligently and in cooperation with town departments, state and regional entities, regional planning authorities, and other interested organizations:
To educate the residents of the Towns of Norton and Mansfield and neighboring communities about the recreation and transportation opportunities offered by the World War II Veterans Memorial Rail Trail.
To promote the development, enjoyment, and care of the World War II Veterans Memorial Rail Trail.
To raise and expend funds to support trail maintenance and improvements for the benefit of the residents of the Towns of Norton and Mansfield and neighboring communities.
To advocate on behalf of residents of the Towns of Norton and Mansfield for the safe and constructive use of the World War II Veterans Memorial Rail Trail.
